In a rather interesting twist for the “Straight Talk Express”, Senator John McCain is calling for Bush to veto the bill he just voted FOR. Despite him saying as president, he would veto every single new government spending bill…. again, he votes for this one. Despite him saying “This bill is putting us on the brink of economic disaster”, he voted for it.
The Straight Talk Express is now leaving gates 1, 2, 3, and 4 and will be headed in every direction possible. How can people even think to vote for this man?
First, I’ll let the video go, then put my thoughts to words,
Now, they want to do whatever they think they have to do to win.
1) What does this say about Palin if they don’t want her to meet the press? This is somebody who is the running mate of the possible next president of the united states. Does the public not deserve to know about her? What are they trying to hide? Oh wait… she has a ton of scandals, from banning books, to investigations of abuse of power. hmm….
2) They claim they can afford to do whatever they want. As Republicans that get tons and tons and tons of lobbyists money… yes this is completely true. It also puts them way out of touch of the avg American. McCain doesn’t even know how many houses he has. Amazing
3) They claim that Biden hasn’t had any interviews and that Palins treatment is “Unfair”. What a LYING SACK OF SHIT. Just minutes when Biden was announced and they stepped off the stage of the DNC, Biden and Obama did an interview with 60 minutes, as well as a couple other interviews. STOP LYING TO AMERICA REPUBLICANS. Here is a youtube of the 60 minutes interview. It’s split into 2 parts.
Something that bothers me greatly is when I start to see censorship. I believe strongly that we should be allowed to have our opinions and be allowed to speak those freely. The first amendment of the Constitution of the United States says so, and this is something we should fight for. With that being said, there is an anti-Obama video that people for the Obama campaign keep trying to flag and censor. This is wrong on many levels, and seems to be the tactics I would expect of the Republicans. STOP THIS NOW. Instead when something like this comes up, just point out how it’s inaccurate like an intelligent adult and make sure people know the video is false.
With that being said, somehow I doubt this video is legal as I doubt the author got permission to use that song. Second, the McCain campaign sells buttons/stickers/shirts, and everything else the Obama campaign does. This seems like it’s setting a double standard. Showing Obama’s house… great, it’s smaller than all SEVEN of McCains houses… The drugs? Stupid, pointless, and only serves to draw connections to something he hasn’t even done. He also has much less money to work with than McCain, and yet he has done a wonderful job in campaigning. Anyways, here is the video to see. Love it, hate it… it should still be viewable. Remember, the true test in believing in the Free speech, is allowing speech you don’t personally agree with.
Lately I have felt that our rights have been under attack by a government that bombards us with fear this, fear that. The war on Terror. Now don’t get me wrong, I feel like what happened on 9/11 and the Oklahoma City bombings were horrible acts, and I want to see those responsible punished. But on that point, I don’t think Bush has done that… at all. What should have happened in response to 9/11? We should have gone into Al-Quida and beat the living snot out of them. Have we done that? No we have not, but instead we went in and started nation building in countries that we didn’t really have any business invading. The death count for United States soldiers has now cost us much more than the lives that were lost in both the Oklahoma City bombing AND 9/111. This isn’t just a few more, but it’s a LOT more. Further with our addiction to oil, we are supplying money to the very people that we are supposed to be fighting. Seriously, how much sense does that make?
Saw this new ad, and I have to say, it strikes right at the heart of McCains problems with how our energy policy is being handled. Only thing that made me wonder was the bit about education. My mother is a teacher as well as the best friend, so I think better schools is a worthy goal, but it sort of seemed out of place in the ad considering it’s message. Oh well.
John Stewert… the comedian that mocks stupidity of democrats and republicans alike, rips on the media when it comes to the coverage of Obama vs McCain. Seriously, this is so funny I nearly fell out of my chair. The truth hurts, doubly so since the media tried to spin that there is a liberal bias. Yea… I don’t think so.
Now that I have that out of my system… long day at work today. The firm employees summer and fall associates during the year, and treats it like a recruiting tool. It’s funny to watch the summers so unsure of themselves, yet they make so much more than I do…
